So I’ve been looking for champ personal trainers to share their story so you can learn about their professionalism and be inspired by their fitness tips.
And this time, Sam Hendricks shares her amazing story with us. She has been practicing Pilate’s for almost 9 years (teaching for 4) and have a background and Bachelors of Fine Arts in Dance.
Why did you decide to become a fitness trainer?
I decided to get a Pilates Certification because I wanted a way to earn an income, have the flexibility to create my own schedule, and teach a form of movement that has helped my body.
What is your fit lifestyle routine?
Meditation, Pilate’s, Yoga, Dance, Travel. Travel and meditation keep me fit mentally and spiritually and the others keep my body healthy.
Do you have any recommended diet?
I am Vegan and Gluten Free so I can recommend both. I have a gluten intolerance so that’s a must for me but going Vegan was a choice. I was having so many different health issues and by changing my diet I was able to eliminate my symptoms/issues by 90%. For me it was a no brainer to keep this not as a diet but lifestyle change.
What is your favorite workout?
My favorite workout is probably to dance. It’s dynamic, I get to enjoy my love for music, and I always leave feeling better than when I came into the studio. Pilate’s is a great workout too and one I can fit into my routine more often. Pilate’s keeps me aligned, balanced, and toned by working in a functional and efficient way.
9 What is your one top tip for people who want to lose weight?
Change up your routine! You need a good mix of cardio, resistance training, and diet. Your body can get used to working and eating in a certain pattern so my advice is to mix up that pattern of exercise.
