Amber Leann Drake’s Health Secrets

As you already know, Mind&Body adores successful people and believes they can change the world by inspiring others!

So I’ve been looking for champ personal trainers to share their story so you can learn about their professionalism and be inspired by their fitness tips.

And this time, Amber Leann Drake shares her amazing story with us. She is a certified health coach for 4+ years, that has a background in gut health and the mindset of real lasting change.

Why did you decide to become a fitness trainer?

Because I know that a woman who feels really damn good in her mind + body + soul can do anything. So, I want to help women feel freaking good in their bodies by focusing on healing the gut, breaking through mindset barriers, and learning how to tap back into their powerful intuition. Also, I transform the excessive and extreme of diet culture and make it easy and effortless.

What is your fit lifestyle routine?

I believe in alignment. My gut health is my first priority. I personally use specialized gut detoxes as well as working through them with my clients. I also use and teach intuitive healthy eating. No HARDCORE diets, painful meal plans, or super strict protocols for me. I feel the best I ever have now that I have learned how to listen to my body instead of strong-arming it into place. I believe in movement daily that feels good and gets you working up a sweat. That is different for everyone. For me, it is Baptiste Yoga, Barre, long walks, and lifting weights. I personally drink 1/2 my body weight in oz of clean (toxin free) water a day and recommend that to my clients. I also utilize proper supplementation for my needs and believe in clean (like, really clean) products that are simple and effective.

Do you have any recommended diet?

Yes – when beginning with my clients, I also do a gut detox so that they can get back to feeling their best as soon as possible. Then I utilize and teach traffic light eating. A way of intuitive eating through breaking up foods into 3 groups: green light foods, yellow light foods, and red light foods. Using those groupings looks different for each person. But, they can be utilized to easily keep track of what is being put in the body. Also – I think everyone should be avoiding foods that don’t leave them feeling good and eating the foods that do. Leaning towards nourishment and fulfillment versus strict protocols and diets.

What is your favorite workout?

Baptiste Power Yoga at New Angle Yoga, Barre, weight lifting, and long walks on the beach.

What is your one top tip for people who want to lose weight?

Heal your gut. From that place, you will be more likely to naturally balance your hormones – which will leave you feeling better, with more energy, better sleep, less brain fog…which, will in turn allow you to start making real progress on your fitness. As I work with clients, I see gut health being the most important domino to knock over first. Lastly, #protip if you are struggling, set up a sustainable fitness and diet plan with a trusted coach.
